Wild Place Project Giraffe House Appeal

Living in Gloucestershire we often spend our weekends visiting farm parks. We were therefore delighted to be invited to the Wild Place Project in Bristol for a refreshing change of scenery and opportunity to exchange farm animals for wild animals during a bloggers event hosted by Trunki. **The family pass and Trunki giveaway has now ended.  Many thanks to the 4,720 entries and congratulations to Sally Collingwood who was our lucky winner**

Kids and Giraffe Appeal

To safeguard a population of giraffes in human care alongside a sustainable population in the wild the charity is working hard to raise £750,000 to build a new giraffe house at the Bristol based attraction and help fund conservation work in Africa.

The generous people at Trunki are fully behind the appeal and have launched a new design – Gerry the Giraffe which is incredibly cute, as I am sure you will agree!  They will be donating £5 for every Gerry ride on suitcase sold to help support the appeal and conservation work.

More information about the appeal can be found here in this short two-minute video –

During the event we were treated to animal talks from some of the park zoo keepers whilst we explored the attraction and came face to face with wildlife from the UK and around the world.  Harry’s particular favourite animals were the zebras, wolves and lemurs of Madagascar which we visited during a particularly frenzied feeding time much to his amusement!

Harry and I would like to thank Trunki and the Wild Place Project for a fun day.  We definitely plan to return to the attraction as a family in the summer to fully explore the 55 hectare park and revisit our favourite animal enclosures.  Harry loves his new Zimba the Zebra Trunki and I fully expect him to be running through the airport this summer chasing his big brother with his recently ‘made by me’ Trunki!
