One thing that really struck me during my weekend in Costa Barcelona, is how we are now more likely to share a photo/status update on social media than pop a postcard in the post. Although I really miss posting and receiving handwritten notes, I do love the ability to update family and friends at home in real-time.
I have recently started using Instagram and it is quickly becoming my favourite social media channel. (Mainly because I’m nosey, but also because I love being inspired by other people’s travelling experiences, which Instagram is particularly great for!)
Just in case my destination guide to Costa Barcelona and 15 family attractions a short drive from Barcelona didn’t convince you to book your next family holiday here are a few Instagram ‘postcards’ from my weekend in Costa Barcelona…
Today's hike around the natural park of Montseny @TurMontseny was made just that little bit more difficult by my legs and arms aching from hanging on for dear life onto a banana boat yesterday! 💦😂 We took part in the high speed thrill ride at Calella water sports centre. Kids from as young as 5 are able to experience this! Our drivers seemed determined that we were getting wet yesterday and they succeeded! #BMLcostabcn
Since returning from Costa Barcelona on Monday I have been blaming my clothes feeling tight on my tumble dryer! Today I have downloaded several hundred photos of my four days exploring the region with @BritMums @spain @bcnmoltmes and I have been amazed at how many photos I took of the incredible food we enjoyed during our trip! Delicious local cheeses, breads, fresh fish, tapas and my favourite – the three different types of paella we tried at the @nui_beach in Calella. There is a small possibility that my dryer hasn't shrunk any of my clothes after all 😂 #BMLcostabcn #food #foodie #foodforthought
Our last press trip group photo and last views of picturesque Costa Barcelona from the highest point of Castelldefels Castle. We had an incredible four days in the region discovering some of the best family attractions on offer just a short distance from the city of Barcelona. I particularly fell in love with the 5 km long beach in Castelldefels and intend to return with my family to enjoy more water sports and beach fun in the spring! #presstrip #BMLcostabcn #castelldefels #castillodecastelldefels
I have finally recovered from our four day press trip to Costa Barcelona and found the time to publish my first article – a destination guide to visiting the region with kids. I hope the guide and photos will inspire other families to travel to Costa Barcelona for it truly has so much to offer – picturesque beaches, world class water sports facilities, incredible Catalan food, castles, lighthouses, mountains to hike and vineyards to explore! Link to destination guide is in my bio:) This photo was taken at the @watersportscentre_calella just before we went for a ride on a banana boat! #bmlcostabcn
