Monday Escapes #81

Hello and welcome back to Monday Escapes.  We know many of you are going to be busy preparing for the school holidays but we hope you can spare a few minutes to join us and we look forward to reading about your travels!  Claire and I are your hosts this week, you will find the linky below.

I may have mentioned a few times(!) being invited along with Claire to review a Back to the 80’s cruise.  Well we returned home last Sunday from an utterly fabulous week sailing onboard Navigator of the Seas in our brightest neon clothes!  I’ve published a review here and plan to write lots more about the ship and her facilities soon.

It’s been go, go, go on Cruising with Kids – Claire and I shared daily updates whilst cruising on Navigator of the Seas.  Sarah has shared a video tour and guide for cruising with teens onboard the spectacular Norwegian Bliss.  She also sets sail onboard Celebrity Silhouette on Saturday to review a Performing Arts cruise.  Keep your eyes peeled as she plans to post daily updates on Cruising with Kids whilst onboard with her family.

Last but certainly not least, Donna has recently returned from reviewing the brand new Symphony of the Seas (check out her guide and review here) followed by a short three day cruise onboard the newly refurbished, Independence of the Seas.  Phew…  I’m exhausted just thinking about all that packing and unpacking!

Without further ado… Monday Escapes

Monday Escapes is all about looking back at wonderful, happy travel memories and sharing them with others. It doesn’t have to be about a trip abroad or even be a written post. If you want to share your favourite snapshots – whether it’s a famous sight, scene, dramatic view or even a favourite family photo, then please feel free to link those up, too. Likewise, posts don’t have to be about holidays or weekends away, they can also include day trips, walks, attractions – any travel experience that you want to share.

The linky is run by Claire (Tin Box Traveller), Sarah (Extraordinary Chaos) Karen (Mini Travellers) and myself, Lisa (Travel Loving Family).

We are all absolutely delighted to link up with Lonely Planet to offer our number one favourite blog post of the fortnight either a destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range. (See T&C’s below). Just another great reason to link up with Monday Escapes!

What’s in it for you?

The number one thing is you’ll be sharing your fantastic posts with a like-minded community and grabbing some travel inspiration for yourself. As a bonus you have a chance to have your blog post featured on all four of the hosts’ blogs each fortnight, introducing your blog to even more people.

Our favourite posts from last time

Here are the posts that caught Karen and Sarah’s attention last time:

Sarah says: Angharads post from Mamma Travels Earth about visiting Heritage Le Telfair Mauritius made me want to book, this is my kind of holiday and the pictures had me longing for a deserted beach.

Sarah said: I loved Caity’s post – Travel Expectations vs. Reality Through the Lens of Lake Atitlán which I felt was an honest encounter of how you should manage expectations on a trip. We have all had those disappointing moments haven’t we?

Karen said: This post from LadiesWhatTravel made my heart jump into my mouth looking at all the people on the skybridge. Could you do it?  Don’t Miss These 7 Things to See and Do in Langkawi!

Karen said: This post shows just how beautiful and idylic this part of Spain is. I loved Heidi as a child and quite fancy showing the movie version to the girls this weekend and then taking them to see the villages. Getting Lost in the Spanish Mountains.

We chose Angharad’s post from Mamma Travels Earth as our favourite this week.  Please do get in touch Angharad to claim your prize!

So how do you join in this time?

I’m not a big fan of cruises -I went on one with my hubby and we didn’t have a great time- but with kids is probably more fun :)
P.S. – Thanks so much for featuring my post!
