#WeLoveGlos March winners (& details of local prize up for grabs in April!)

 *Giveaway

Many thanks to the local Gloucestershire peeps who got involved with the Instagram hashtag community #WeLoveGlos in March.  I launched the hashtag at the beginning of February to celebrate all the unique places that make Gloucestershire a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. Since then over 350 local people, companies and tourist boards have used the hashtag  in their photos and shared tips about their favourite local places.

I now have a long list of recommended local coffee shops, restaurants, walks and attractions I want to try out with my boys!  I look forward to picking up lots more local recommendations as the #WeLoveGlos community continues to grow over the next few months.

Read on to find out who the winners are for March and what YOU could win this month… (Plus make sure you check out this exclusive family pass giveaway for Cornbury Music Festival based in the Cotswolds, worth £500!)

A few of my favourite #WeLoveGlos posts from March

As promised here are a few of my favourite posts from this month, followed by the three winning posts.

I loved Joy’s post (@pinkoddy) which made me want to immediately try the chocolate challenge at Cafe au Chocolat in Tewkesbury!  Doesn’t this platter of cakes, chocolates, truffles, fudge and cream look amazing…

I also loved this shout out by Dean Wye Tourism for our local brewery award winning brewery, Hillside Brewery. You can go and check out their range of craft beers brewed near Longhope here.

We've got the Best Drinks Producer in the UK right here in the Forest of Dean! @HillsideBrewery won last night at the National Rural Business Awards 🏆 and we couldn't be prouder of this fantastic business and great bunch of people. Family run, Hillside Brewery is in a stunning location near Longhope. They have a bar, a shop selling a wide range of their own and other local products, and they run experiences and fun activities too. Their events barn is ideal for celebrations and groups from weddings to conferences, and they also run their own regular events including comedy nights, supper clubs and music. Their brewery experiences are perfect for days out and gifts and their beer garden is a gorgeous spot to enjoy a bevvie while taking in the Forest of Dean views all around them. And just when you think they couldn't be more perfect, they're eco-friendly too! Run on ground source, air source and solar power they also have their own bore hole water which the beer is made from. You can see why they are multi-award winning can't you! Our three winning #WeLoveGlos posts for March

I bet you didn't know that #Gloucester has a thriving independent #coffee scene? Having recently spent some time rediscovering my home city, I was pleasantly surprised at the city's respiring role in the foodie scene. I've taken it upon myself to taste test the best independent coffee shops in Gloucester coming soon! @foodnerd4life you coming? . . 📷: Mars Bar Toastie . . #WeLoveGlos #GlosBid #gloucesterbloggers #Gloucestershire #GlosBloggers #discovergloucestershire #discoverglos #igersglos #visitgloucester #visitgloucestershire #gloucestercathedral #gloucesterquays #gloucesterdocks #gloucestercounty #gloucesterphotography #gloucestercity #gloucesterservices #gloucestershirephotographer #gloucestershirephotography #goodmorninggloucester #hungrygrls #foodie #foodiesofinstagram #eatingfortheinsta #huffposttaste #topcitybites

I, Queen Karen of House Whitlock, First of my name, claim the Iron Throne. I shall continue to "drink and know things" like Tyrion and correct grammar like Stannis. And yes, I did visit @puzzlewoodfod today purely to sit on the Iron Throne whilst it is there, and no, I don't care if you think that makes me a bit sad! #forthethrone #gameofthrones #got #gots8 #ironthrone #hbo #winteriscoming #winterishere #puzzlewood #discovergloucestershire #forestofdean #ThroneOfTheForest #QuestForTheThrone #ChildrenOfTheForest #DeanWye #ScenicBritain #VisitBritain  #CapturingBritain #BrilliantBritain #weloveglos #InspiringPlaces #BestUnitedKingdom #VisitEngland #TheForestOfDean  #PhotosOfBritain #ThisPrettyEngland #LoveBritain #TravelDestinations_IG #UKHiddenGems

Our third prize goes to @mini_greens_in_the_cotswolds who win two x Foodie Cards by Pershore Patty worth £25. (These cards are valid for special offers and deals at 170+ food & drink places in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and local pop up traders).

I love their honest accounts of family visits to local attractions in the Cotswolds, including this post they shared a few days ago after a visit to Cotswolds Country Park and Beach.

How can you get involved with #WeLoveGlos?

Firstly, let me just say this again – You do not need to be a blogger to get involved with #WeLoveGlos!  (The Mini Greens above are not bloggers but as with many families living locally, they know the area really well and have so many insights to share).  ALL local people, businesses and visitors to Gloucestershire are very welcome to join in.

All you have to do is share a photo taken locally on Instagram and use the hashtag #WeLoveGlos.  This is your chance to rave about your favourite local walks, attractions, annual festivals and events.  Know of a local event which is a great family day out? A local pub that serves a cracking Sunday lunch?  A cosy coffee shop that serves great homemade cake?   Or a brilliant local company just starting up that needs a helping hand to get noticed?  Give them a little shout out on Instagram by using our hashtag #WeLoveGlos.

Make sure you are following the #WeLoveGlos hashtag and my instagram account @travellovinfam (so you don’t miss out announcements featuring our winners and new monthly prizes).  Each time you use the hashtag you will increase your chance of winning a prize.  There is no limit to how many times you can enter in a month.
