A visit onboard P&O Cruises Britannia

For the last few years I promised my old friend and work colleague that we would visit him onboard his ship during a turnaround day in Southampton.  Finally a few weeks ago we did it!  I have shared our photo tour around P&O Cruises Britannia below.

Daniel and I have known each other for 15 years since working together in Florida.  After graduating, Daniel worked for Disney Cruises and called me randomly one day raving about how amazing life at sea was!  That phone call changed my life… Shortly after this I was given the opportunity to take voluntary redundancy from the RNLI.  I applied to work for P&O Cruises and met Richard!  After three fabulous years at sea, first as Shore Excursions Assistant and then Manager, I was able to repay the favour to Daniel by recommending to my Director that she consider his application to work for her shore excursions team.

Ten years later Daniel is still living the dream….  Being paid to travel the world and enjoying incredible experiences including hiking, biking, scuba diving, helicopter flights and visiting some of the worlds most amazing sights on a daily basis.  I am incredibly envious that he is about to go on his fifth world cruise (with his lovely girlfriend Terri in the photo below joining him).  Although I only experienced one world cruise during my time at sea, I can honestly say it was one of the best three months of my life (prior to kids obviously!)  Group photo in the Atrium P&O Cruises Britannia

It was Charlie and Harry’s first time onboard a cruise ship and it is fair to say they absolutely adored it.  They ran around excitedly checking out the ships facilities.  They particularly enjoyed exploring the top deck where they pestered to have a swim and we had a few tears when it was time to leave the kids’ club.  Luckily they do not have to wait too long until we set sail for our first family cruise.

This ship looks amazing. We came over to Europe on the QMII and loved the trip over. The kids loved it as well, despite not having all the bells and whistles of other ships. We liked the low key atmosphere! Thanks for sharing #MondayEscapes

Absolutely Cathy! My youngest didn’t really understand that he was onboard a ship to be honest. He kept pointing out of the windows asking to go on a boat. I had to keep saying that the Britannia was so much cooler than the fishing boats he wanted to go on!

The Britannia is very stylish Lyndsey! Very different to some of the more traditional ships I worked on like the Oriana. I particularly loved the Atrium and the bars with sea views
