Yesterday I spent the afternoon chasing my boys through the vibrant lavender fields at Cotswolds Lavender. The third generation family farm is located high up in the Cotswold Hills overlooking Broadway and the Vale of Evesham.
If you have not been before I would definitely recommend a visit, although you will have to be quick as the fields are now in flower and they are currently harvesting the crop to make essential lavender oils. The last day to visit is this Sunday, the 7th August. The farm will then close until next summer.
Cotswold Lavender has a tea room which serves lavender tea, ice cream, cakes and shortbread. I can personally vouch for the lavender scones which are delicious particularly served with clotted cream and jam! There is also a gift shop which sells unique lavender products.
You need to allow at least an hour to explore the lavender fields and check out the distillery. If you wish to make a day of it there is a great playground in Broadway located a short five-minute drive from Cotswold Lavender.
