Good morning and welcome to Monday Escapes. I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend. I’ve literally just finished unloading our car. My husband and I have been in York for a couple of days whilst our boys were being completely spoilt by their grandparents. I now feel ready to deal with toddler tantrums after a weekend chilling in a hotel spa!
Last weekend I attended Traverse in London, one of the UK’s biggest travel blogger conferences. Can you spot any familiar faces from the photos below?!
It was great to meet up with my fellow Monday Escapes co hosts and many of my other favourite travel bloggers. I have published a summary article, (linking in many of the session notes which are really handy,) over on Trips100 – 20+ travel bloggers share lessons learnt at #Traverse17. Even if you attended Traverse it’s a worthwhile read, as it was impossible to attend all 50 sessions/workshops held by industry experts over the weekend.
I’ve been busy here on my own website too. As festival season is fast approaching, I’ve launched a new giveaway. One lucky family will win a weekend pass to the last ever Cornbury Music Festival in Oxfordshire, worth over £500. The line up is AMAZING! Bryan Adams, Kaiser Chiefs, The Pretenders, Jools Holland, Tom Chaplin, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Jack Savoretti, Scouting For Girls, Midge Ure and loads planned for kids too, in the dedicated children’s zone. You can enter here – Cornbury Music Festival family weekend ticket giveaway.
I’ve also just published a review of our Easter break with Away Resorts, which I am linking up to Monday Escapes this week – Review Tattershall Lakes; A fun family Easter break in Lincolnshire.
Monday Escapes #59
Without further ado, it’s my turn to host this week, with Claire as my co host, you will find the linky below. Karen and Sarah were your hosts for Monday Escapes #58. Their four favourite posts were…
A Year in a French Forest by Lou Messugo. Selected by Karen as she could just imagine stumbling upon all these designs and how exciting that would be. A natural treasure hunt.
Karen also loved Charly’s post about the Picos de Europe. Since reading the post Karen has looked at booking flights to Bilbao!
Sarah selected Brigitte’s post which took her breath away, the incredible tree in Namibia featured in the article has seen 800 years of history and protected and saved many lives. A truly incredible story.
Sarah’s second choice was Swapna’s post about the Humbolt Penguin Reserve with gorgeous pictures of the birds in their own habitat.
The winner of the Lonely Planet book is Lou Messugo. Please do get in touch and let us know what guide-book you would like to inspire your next adventures.
What is Monday Escapes?
Monday Escapes is a place for bloggers to link up their travel memories. The linky is all about looking back at wonderful, happy travel memories and sharing them with others.
So how do you join in?
• Link up to one post/photo – old or new. ** I am your host this week, the linky is below!**
What’s in it for you?
The number one thing is you’ll be sharing your fantastic posts with a like-minded community and grabbing some travel inspiration for yourself! As a bonus you have a chance to have your blog post featured (with follow links) on all four of the hosts’ blogs each fortnight, introducing your blog to even more people.
Our number one favourite post of the fortnight will also win a Lonely Planet destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range. How great is that?!
Monday Escapes will go live every two weeks, alternating between your four hosts – Sarah at Extraordinary Chaos, Claire at Tin Box Traveller, Karen at Mini Travellers and I. The linky opens Monday at 7am to Wednesday midnight. There is also a Monday Escapes Pinterest Board – so if you’d like to start pinning some of your favourite photos, do get in touch.[apsp-board-widget board_url=”https://uk.pinterest.com/mytravelmonkey/monday-escapes/” custom_size=’custom’ image_width=”100″ board_height=”300″ board_width=”400″]
