Packing tips for summer outdoor adventures

After what feels like months of researching, planning and wardrobe sorting my boys and I are finally packed and ready for our two week summer adventure with Brittany tourist board followed by a week reviewing a villa in Italy with Bookings For You!   Unfortunately hubby needs to work so he’ll be staying home alone.  Our first stop is Nantes where we will visit some of the most popular attractions before taking a road trip along the southern Brittany coast in my parents motorhome.  I’ve travelled with my boys many times before but I’m still a little apprehensive, mainly about driving on the French roads and my very rusty GCSE French language skills!  To keep my boys entertained during our outbound journey I have a bag packed full of snacks, sticker books and games although to be honest they’ll most probably just enjoy the journey involving planes, trains and automobiles!  (Does anyone else love that movie?!)

Packing tips for summer outdoor adventures

The hardest thing about packing for this press trip has been taking into account all of the different outdoor activities we are going to be experiencing and ensuring we each have all of the appropriate kit.  This has involved multiple trips to outdoor shops and a good old rummage through our shed and attic but I’m finally done and I can nearly taste the French wine and cheese I’m so looking forward to!

Dickies have asked me to share the kit we plan to use during our summer outdoor adventures in France.  So here goes… it is quite a lengthy list, (good job I paid for the extra baggage allowance!)

Sensible footwear and comfortable clothes for our days exploring the Dukes of Brittany Castle and the Machines de l’îl.

Warm clothes for our boat trips onboard a traditional sailing ship and island hopping around the Glénan archipelago.

Climbing gear including hiking boots for a day swinging from trees at the adrénaline forest park in Carnac.

Swim gear, beach toys, lifejackets and an inflatable canoe for our (hopefully relaxing and frequent!) beach days.

Torches, wind breaker, water carrier and gas camping stove to make life onboard our motorhome as comfortable and easy as can be!
