Monday Escapes #63

Good morning and welcome Monday Escapers!  I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend?  We’ve been back ‘up north’ to celebrate my lovely dad’s 60th birthday.  It was great to get the whole family together, as it doesn’t happen very often.

This year is flying by.  In just a few weeks my eldest will be finishing school for the summer and my boys and I will be jetting off to work with Brittany tourist board, to promote the best attractions for families along the southern Brittany coast.

We’ve had a busy few weeks.  We recently celebrated our blog two year birthday and in the same week found out that we’ve been shortlisted as finalists in the Brilliance in Blogging Awards.  What a way to celebrate!  Many thanks to everyone who voted for us.  It is very much appreciated.

No time for any post Bluestone/Tenby holiday blues today! We've just received fabulous news that we've been selected as travel blog finalists in the Brilliance in Blogging Awards (BiBs) run by @britmums 🙌🍾 Many thanks to everyone who voted for us 😘❤️ We are all hugely grateful!! Huge congrats to all the other finalists too particularly my lovely #MondayEscapes cohosts @mini_travellers @tinboxtraveller @extraordinary_chaos. Voting has now reopened for the shortlisted blogs, if you have another spare minute to show us some love we would be very appreciative! (I'll pop the link in my bio). Right I'm off to celebrate with a Pimms in the garden🍹☀️😂🎉🍾#bibs2017 #britmums #blogging #travelblogger

Last time it was Monday Escapes we had just returned from reviewing Bluestone in Pembrokeshire, Wales.  We were so impressed with the resort that I’ve published my first ever iMovie edited You Tube video!  You can check out our tour of the resort here –

I’ve also just published our reviews of Bluestone – 6 Reasons We Loved Bluestone and our Guide to Bluestone on a Budget, which is the post I am linking up to Monday Escapes this week.

Monday Escapes #63

Without further ado, it’s my turn to host this week, with Claire as my co host.  You will find the linky below.  Karen and Sarah were your hosts for Monday Escapes #62. Their four favourite posts were…

Karen loved this post from Kids & Compass about travelling to Petra with Kids. It’s been on her wish list for a very long time and she was happy to read that she doesn’t have to wait until her girls have grown up to experience it for herself!

Karen also loved all the photos and in depth descriptions in Tanama Tales post about Arthur Avenue.  If you are heading to New York City check this post out for some seriously good Italian food.

Sarah loved The Painted Globe’s post about Russell in New Zealand.  The pictures made her want to wander the gorgeous streets.

As a huge Disney fan Sarah found Amanda’s tips from Vera Vise pure genius!  Five ways to save fortunes staying on site at Walt Disney World.  Amanda you are our lucky winner this week so please do get in touch to claim your prize!

What is Monday Escapes?

Monday Escapes is a place for bloggers to link up their travel memories. The linky is all about looking back at wonderful, happy travel memories and sharing them with others.
It doesn’t have to be about a trip abroad or even be a written post. If you want to share your favourite snapshots – whether it’s a famous sight, scene, dramatic view or even a favourite family photo, then please feel free to link those up, too. Likewise, posts don’t have to be about holidays or weekends away, they can also include day trips, walks, attractions – any travel experience that you want to share.

So how do you join in?

• Link up to one post/photo – old or new. ** I am your host this week, the linky is below!**
• Please make sure to include the new Monday Escapes badge at the bottom of the post, on your site, or a link back to the hosts.
• Posts are anything travel-related, and can include photos, reviews, days out, attractions and walks – at home or abroad.
• Comment on posts by the hosts and at least two others. Blog hops only work if you share the comment love. That’s why they’re so great!
• If you tweet any of us your links using #MondayEscapes and we will be sure to retweet. @travellovinfam, @minitravellers, @sarahjchristie, @tinboxtraveller
• Similarly, if you want to show off your photos on Instagram using #MondayEscapes, we will also show those photos some love.  Please note as our Instagram community is small we’re no longer sharing our favourite posts each fortnight. But please keep using the hashtag as we’d like to continue to support our regular linkers.

What’s in it for you?

The number one thing is you’ll be sharing your fantastic posts with a like-minded community and grabbing some travel inspiration for yourself!  As a bonus you have a chance to have your blog post featured (with follow links) on all four of the hosts’ blogs each fortnight, introducing your blog to even more people.

Our number one favourite post of the fortnight will also win a Lonely Planet destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range.  How great is that?!  (*T&C’s – The chosen Lonely Planet book must be in English and can only be sent to bloggers living within Europe).

Monday Escapes will go live every two weeks, alternating between your four hosts – Sarah at Extraordinary Chaos, Claire at Tin Box Traveller, Karen at Mini Travellers and I.  The linky opens Monday at 7am to Wednesday midnight.  There is also a Monday Escapes Pinterest Board – so if you’d like to start pinning some of your favourite photos, do get in touch.

Wow Sarah!! I’m so honored and even more glad that you found my tips useful. I’m so sad this year as our annual passes have expired and we won’t be heading to Disney again for a few years, but I can relive all my memories by sharing what I learned with others!! Thanks so much!!

Pembrokeshire is lovely isn’t it? It’s been literally decades since I was there, but I remember just loving it. Oh…. and becoming a finalist, how great is that!! Congrats! And thank you for a lovely linkup 😉
