Monday Escapes #60

Good morning and welcome to Monday Escapes.  I hope you’ve enjoyed a wonderful weekend in the sun.  I’ve spent it at home for the first time in over a month and I have to say its been rather nice not to have to rush around for a change!

Monday Escapes

Last week I was asked to I share my Facebook tips over on BritMums, which may be of use to those of you who manage a Facebook page and struggle to get a good social reach.  (Facebook can be an absolute nightmare for promoting blog articles/sponsored campaigns!)  You can read the article here – Five top secret Facebook tips.  If you have any tips to share please do let me know in the comments below!

I also rounded up my favourite East Coast USA holiday reviews over on Trips100.  If you are thinking about a holiday to the coastal states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, New York or Massachusetts check out this round up of the best holiday reviews by many top travel bloggers – East Coast USA Holidays.

I am so pleased that the weather has suddenly decided that it is time for us to experience some sunshine, just in time for the music festival season too!  We are attending two this summer, Cornbury Music Festival and Wychwood Festival.  We have a family weekend camping pass up for grabs for Cornbury Music Festival here and my lovely friend Emma has a family pass to Wychwood up for grabs over on her blog.  (Our review from last year and the link to the giveaway can be found here).  Best of luck to you if you decide to enter either of these FAB giveaways!

For this weeks Monday Escapes I am delighted to share another fabulous giveaway on behalf of Bookings For You, a villa rental company.   Win a seven night stay in a 3 bed villa in Lake Maggiore, Italy!

What is Monday Escapes?

Monday Escapes is a place for travel bloggers to link up travel memories and is hosted by myself, Sarah at Extraordinary Chaos, Claire at Tin Box Traveller and Karen (***your host for this week) at Mini Travellers,

Monday Escapes is all about looking back at wonderful, happy travel memories and sharing them with others. It doesn’t have to be about a trip abroad or even be a written post. If you want to share your favourite snapshots – whether it’s a famous sight, scene or dramatic view, then please feel free to link those up, too. Likewise, posts don’t have to be about holidays or weekends away, they can also include day trips, walks, attractions – any travel experience that you want to share.

Claire and I were your hosts for the last Monday Escapes.  These were our favourite posts:
Tracey from Tracy’s Travel’s in Time spent 2016 visiting as many of the designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the UK as possible. She has published an article featuring 26 of the UNESCO UK sites with short descriptions and inspiring photos which has really made me want to visit a few that have been on my travel wish list for a long time… the Giants Causeway and Stonehenge. (I am ashamed to say that Stonehenge is literally down the road from me and yet I haven’t visited!)

I absolutely loved this guide to Budapest by Ruth at Tanama Tales.  Her photos are superb and I love the tips she shares with her readers.

Claire loved the Cali Globetrotters Lorelei’s picture-perfect tour of the stunningly beautiful half-timbered and quirky buildings of Idestein in Germany published by Lorelei.

Trish from Mums Gone To tells the incredible story of Bletchley Park and the work carried out there during WWII. This is somewhere I’ve wanted to visit since watching The Imitation Game. What an incredible place!

Trish is also our winner this week.  Congratulations and please do get in touch Trish to claim your Lonely Planet prize!

What’s in it for you?

The number one thing is you’ll be sharing your fantastic posts with a like-minded community and grabbing some travel inspiration for yourself. As a bonus you have a chance to have your blog post and/or hashtagged Instagram posts featured on all four, yes four of the hosts’ blogs each fortnight, introducing your blog to even more people. How great is that?!  Our number one favourite post of the fortnight will also win a Lonely Planet destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range. (*T&C’s – The chosen Lonely Planet book must be in English and can only be sent to bloggers living within Europe).

So how do you join in?

• Link up to one post/photo – old or new.  *** Karen is your host this week at Mini Travellers.
• Please make sure to include the Monday Escapes badge at the bottom of the post, on your site, or a link back to the hosts.
• Posts are anything travel-related, and can include photos, reviews, days out, attractions and walks – at home or abroad.
• Comment on posts by the co-hosts and at least two others. Blog hops only work if you share the comment love. That’s why they’re so great!
• If you tweet any of us your links we will be sure to retweet. @travellovinfam@minitravellers@sarahjchristie, @tinboxtraveller
• Monday Escapes will go live every two weeks, alternating between the hosts and will be open Monday to Wednesday. Every fortnight we will be giving a shout out to some of our favourite posts and photos, and choosing a Photo of the Fortnight via Instagram.
• There is also a Monday Escapes Pinterest Board – so if you’d like to start pinning some of your favourite photos, do get in touch.
