Good morning and welcome Monday Escapers. I hope all of you mummy’s were well and truly spoilt yesterday for Mother’s Day. I know I certainly was! We’ve enjoyed a lovely few days in Cornwall with friends in this gorgeous cottage called Stargazers, owned by St Mawes Retreat. Last night a private chef cooked dinner for us, it was such a treat. (I’ve told my husband that I expect this for every Mother’s Day from now on!) Our chef Fiona cooked dinner for my boys and our friends kids and whilst we put them all to bed she prepared the most incredible feast for us grown ups. It was so lovely to come through to the dining area after putting my boys to bed and not have to tidy up the kitchen and start cooking dinner!
I’ll be sad to leave St Mawes and will be sharing our review, zillions of photos and videos very soon. In the meantime if you fancy winning a 7 night stay with St Mawes Retreat check out this fab giveaway over on the Visit Cornwall website – Win a 7 night luxury break at St Mawes Retreats.
Fab day today planning for our holiday to @stmawesretreats in Cornwall 😊❤️ Keeping fingers crossed that the weather is going to be like in the photo! ☀️So far we are planning a trip to the Eden Project (it would be rude not to!), St Mawes Castle and the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth. There are so many places I would love us to visit but it's fitting it all in. Is there anywhere else you would suggest? we are a huge group of 6 adults & 6 kids so must be family friendly! Btw if you fancy winning a luxury family break at St Mawes check out the fab giveaway being run by Visit Cornwall! @lovecornwalluk I'll pop the website link in the comments below 😊 #lovecornwall #cornwall #cornwalllife #giveaway #win #winitwednesday

I'm laying in bed trying to ignore the sound of six kids having a mini disco 😂 We've spent the wkd with some of our oldest and dearest friends and their kids at an incredible cottage in Cornwall owned by @stmawesretreats We cannot believe how lucky we have fallen with this weather ☀️☀️ we had our first BBQ of the year yesterday and the kids paddled in the sea! #happydays #cornwalllife #cornwall
What is Monday Escapes?
Monday Escapes is all about looking back at wonderful, happy travel memories and sharing them with others. It doesn’t have to be about a trip abroad or even be a written post. If you want to share your favourite snapshots – whether it’s a famous sight, scene, dramatic view or even a favourite family photo, then please feel free to link those up, too. Likewise, posts don’t have to be about holidays or weekends away, they can also include day trips, walks, attractions – any travel experience that you want to share.
Our favourite posts from Monday Escapes #55
I loved this post – An Indian Adventure – by Danielle from Severn Bites. As a professional bread maker Danielle travels around the world seeking inspiration for her cooking. Her holiday in Kerala, India, looks incredible and makes me want to return for I barely scratched the surface of what the area offers during my one day cruise ship visit!
I also loved this post by Wandermust Family featuring the couples pre pregnancy and pre parenthood travel bucket list. The gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda sounds pretty epic!
Claire particularly enjoys reading articles that make her think differently about a destination that she believes she already knows. She selected this post by Smart Mouse Travel as it made her want to go back to Las Vegas with her kids – Las Vegas with Kids, No Really!
Claire also enjoyed reading this comprehensive city guide to Ronda, Spain – 5 Reasons to Visit Ronda, Spain. The guide, written by the Topsy Turvy Tribe, features all the best historical and child friendly places to visit in the city.
The winner of the Lonely Planet book this time is Danielle from Severn Bites please do get in touch to claim your prize!
What’s in it for you?
The number one thing is you’ll be sharing your fantastic posts with a like-minded community and grabbing some travel inspiration for yourself. How great is that?! Our number one favourite post of the fortnight will also win a Lonely Planet destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range. (*T&C’s – The chosen Lonely Planet book must be in English and can only be sent to bloggers living within Europe).
