I’ve just received some rather fabulous news to cheer me up on an otherwise overcast autumn day. As many of you know we attended Cornbury Festival for the first time this summer and had a thoroughly enjoyable three days, soaking up the sunshine whilst listening to some incredible live music acts including Bryan Adams and the Kaiser Chiefs. (You can read our Cornbury Festival review here – Highlights of Cornbury Music Festival, the fabulous finale).
The only downside of the weekend was that we felt we had missed out on the last 13 years of attending the popular Cotswolds based festival, as it was firmly believed by everyone involved that this summer was the ‘Fabulous Finale’.
You can therefore imagine my delight to open my inbox this morning and read that the organiser Hugh Phillimore has had a rethink about the festival…
‘So many people have sent messages since July – our audience love the event and want it to keep going. Literally hundreds of our supporters, together with bands, agents, managers, sponsors and media partners telling me I shouldn’t let such a jewel in the festival calendar end. The festival market has become a tough playing field over the last few years and very saturated, which lead partly to my decision to leave whilst we were on a high, however the response has been so overwhelming with support for Cornbury to remain, that it has caused a rethink on my part and I can confirm that we have decided to listen to public opinion and return next year as strong as ever in July 2018, If people still want us here, in a way It would be foolish to stop now and 15 years does give us another great reason to celebrate!’
I for one have already marked my calendar with the dates of the 15th Cornbury Festival, July 13th to 15th 2018, and I fully recommend that you do too! Acts and ticket details will be announced soon so keep your eyes peeled here – www.cornburyfestival.com
Here are a few memories from this summer –
I'm gutted! I should be watching Jools Holland right now closing @cornburymusicfestival but instead I'm still convincing these two little tinkers to go to sleep at home 🙄😴 we reluctantly left after dinner to get ready for school/work tomorrow. Wish we hadn't bothered! My boys clearly still want to party 😂🎉 #cornbury2017 #festivalsummer
