About us

Uk family travel blog - Travel Loving FamilyWelcome and thank you for taking the time to read our family travel blog.  For more information about working with us via our UK based family travel blog please check out our work with us page.

My name is Lisa, husband is Richard and we are the proud parents of two little adventurers, Charlie seven years old and Harry four years old.*

Since studying tourism management at university I have always worked for the travel industry… luxury hotel, cruise line, tour operator, timeshare property and even as a travel and tourism college lecturer.   In June 2015 I set up this blog and now consider myself very fortunate to work from home as a self employed travel writer.

My travels have included visiting 80+ countries, over five years living in various states in the USA, travelling the world as Shore Excursions Manager for P&O Cruises, travelling throughout the Caribbean for my job as Travel Specialist for Abercrombie and Kent and living onboard a narrow boat!

Richard and I met whilst both working for P&O Cruises and so we have always shared a passion for travelling, meeting new people, exploring new places and experiencing different cultures and traditions.  Since having children we have continued to travel abroad and around the UK. (Albeit at a slower pace and with lots more luggage!)  When Charlie celebrated his first birthday he had already been on 18 flights, many of them transatlantic from living in Savannah, Georgia, USA for the first year of his life.

Although travelling with children takes a little more time to plan and prepare the rewards of travelling as a family are so worth it.

In this blog we share our experiences from travelling and visiting attractions as a family in the UK and abroad, review essential family travel kit and pass on useful family travel tips we have picked up along the way.  Our aim is to inspire and help other families to travel with their kids.

We love to hear from our readers so do please add your comments, personal tips and recommendations in the relevant article comments section. It would be great if we could all learn from each others travelling experiences!
